The 2nd Best Sports Car Competition was held by the popular
Russian car magazine Avtomobili. Cars were test driven
at Dmitrovskoe Avtopoligon and evaluated on their running
performance and manoeuvrability. The Subaru Impreza WRX
STI was chosen as the Best Sports Car of 2006 in the $35-85,000
retail price category by the expert judging panel.
The judging committee comprised distinguished Russian
race drivers and editors from Avtomobili magazine. The
judges drove the about eighteen cars from leading manufacturers
before deciding the winners.
The Subaru Impreza WRX STI came out ahead despite being
up against very strong competition from leading car brands.
