HUMMER H3

H3 packs uncompromising HUMMER style and capability into its midsize dimensions. Compared to the H2, the H3 is 429mm shorter in length, 152mm shorter in height and 165mm narrower. Roughly the same length as a midsize family sedan, H3 comfortably navigates city traffic and delivers HUMMER’s trademark crawling and climbing capability.

In addition to its impressive off-road capabilities that match those of the H2, the H3 also provides the refinement, comfort and convenience required for enjoyable on-road driving, with daring looks that make it immediately identifiable as a HUMMER. The interior is inviting and modern, blending premium cues with world-class craftsmanship.

HUMMER H3 with a powerful engine: the Vortec 3.7 litre with dual overhead cams and variable valve timing. This 3.7 litre inline five-cylinder offers an excellent combination of power and efficiency, delivering 242 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 328 Nm of torque at 4600 rpm.

Muscat, Oman – Powered by an advanced, fully integrated powertrain system, the HUMMER H3 is a fully versatile full-time 4 WD vehicle with full-function traction control.  The midsize H3 is perfectly suited for city driving and is fully capable offroad. HUMMER has proved this many-a-times in some of the most gruelling conditions nature has to offer.

The H3’s advanced traction control system was designed to tame the raw power rippling beneath its metal skin. When off-roading or simply on slippery road surfaces, traction control continually monitors the rotational speed of each wheel. If one wheel is spinning more than the others, Traction control applies braking pressure to the spinning whell to help it regain its composure and transfers available torque to the wheels that have traction. Using this system, an HUMMER H3 with 3 spinning wheels can still move forward, even up a 10% incline.

HUMMER H3’s off-road capabilities easily put it in a class by itself.  H3 is the only vehicle of its size that can climb a 407 mm vertical wall,  scale  a 60% grade, traverse a 40% side slope and operate in upto 610 mm of water all while fully loaded.

Crawl Ratio gives superior control when crawling at a very low speeds over large obstacles, like boulders, logs, or while moving up slippery or steep grades. A good crawl ratio also increases vehicle control by providing better engine braking when descending steep slopes. This staggering level of control makes the H3 one of the most capable off- road vehicles.

The HUMMER H3 features a Short-Long Arm independent front suspension and a Hotchkiss design, dual stage, leaf –spring rear suspension. The front suspension uses an aluminium-forged upper control arm and a cast nodular iron lower control arm providing robustness and strength when off-roading.

The H3 incorporates structural enhancements and advanced safety systems to assist in crash avoidance and protection, including a reinforced passenger compartment safety cage that helps provide protection in the event of side and frontal impacts. The strong, rigid steel structure surrounds the passenger compartment, runs from the A-pillars to the roof rail, back to the D-pillars and includes the bottom rocker panels, under-floor longitudinals and frame. The all-steel body panels and exceptionally strong frame further help protect occupants in a collision. The fully welded, ladder-type frame optimises crash performance, in addition to standing up to rigorous off-road requirements.

Additional crash protection is provided by a standard frontal dual-stage air bag system. The H3 has GM’s Passenger Sensing System, which uses weight-sensing technology to turn the front passenger air bag on or off as appropriate. If the sensor system detects an unoccupied front passenger seat or the presence of a smaller occupant, the front passenger air bag is designed to automatically turn off so it would not deploy in the event of a frontal collision.

Optional roof rail-mounted, side curtain air bags drop down to help provide head and rollover protection for the driver and front passenger. A rollover protection sensing system also helps protect occupants against impending rollovers by triggering side curtain air bags to increase the likelihood of occupant containment in a rollover event. Seatbelt pretensioners help keep occupants in the proper position, reducing risks of making contact with the inside of the vehicle.
