Along with a bold bumper design and large air intake, the front of the Chevrolet Spark is dominated by striking round headlights with a large lens effect.  The front headlight design is matched at the rear by signature round taillights.

The Chevrolet Spark also features a unique cockpit design.  The operating elements of the design are divided into two parts.  In the driver's direct area of vision is the control and warning light unit.  Strikingly positioned in the centre of the dashboard and easily visible to all passengers are the speedometer and instruments.

Due to its intelligent packaging and long wheelbase of 2,345 millimetres, the new Spark offers a comparatively large amount of space and a feeling of roominess.  The rear seat backrest can be divided in a 60:40 ratio, enabling longer objects to be easily transported.  The interior also offers a number of clever storage locations, with shelves, trays, and bottle and can-holders.  The ashtray can be placed in one of three locations or removed altogether.

In addition to its funky European-inspired style,  diverse colour palette and striking design elements, the Spark boasts remarkable fuel economy and affordability as well as an impressive array of comfort and convenience features, proving once and for all that bigger isn’t necessarily always better.

Chevrolet has developed an economical yet powerful new engine exclusively for the Spark.  A low curb weight and aerodynamic styling give the Spark the unmatched fuel efficiency. The powertrain maximizes power and torque at lower speeds, especially when combined with the new four-speed automatic transmission, which was especially developed for the new Spark.  Featuring an overdrive function, the state-of-the-art transmission drives the front wheels and makes the Spark ideal for both commuting in congested city traffic and for open highways.

The Chevrolet Spark offers strong protection in the event of an accident.  It all centres on the stable passenger cell, which is made predominantly of high-strength steel.  This not only ensures greater rigidity and stability but also lowers the weight of the body shell.  Advanced high-strength steel is used for the A-pillar, front-impact beam, centre tunnel and floor panel sides. 

Other safety features in the new Spark include driver, passenger and side air bags, three-point seat belts and head restraints for all five seats, electrically operated pretensioners, belt force limiters in the front and the latest-generation four-channel anti-lock brake system from Bosch.

Features on the Chevrolet Spark include power-assisted steering, electrically operated front windows, central locking and a height-adjustable driver’s seat and seat belt.  It also boasts a range of convenience features normally found only in much larger and more expensive cars, including fully automatic air conditioning.

At under 4m in length, the Spark is the smallest Chevrolet to arrive in the region, but thanks to its intelligent packaging and long wheelbase, this member of the brand’s line-up proves that the Spark can pack a big punch, with its surprisingly spacious and endlessly versatile interior.
