marked the start of
sales for the all-new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro at Oman
Trading Establishment by handing over the keys to a
Camaro SS to Badar Saud Hamed Al Maashari, the first
Camaro customer, at the OTE Wattayah
showroom.

present the fifth generation Camaro. The 2010 Camaro is
a modern sports car that makes your pulse race like the
first one did back in 1967, only in a different way,”
said Devereux.

The 2010 Camaro is a stunning
sports car for the 21st century,
with a modern treatment of a classic design, all driven
by a 462hp (gross) powerplant for the Camaro SS and
323hp (gross) for the Camaro
LT.
The 2010 Camaro is sleekly styled
on the DNA
of the first generation Camaro, produced from 1967 to
1969. For the exterior, this includes classic
proportions with a long hood, short deck and muscular
fender forms. It also includes the classic “V” shaped
nose and gills located in the front of the rear quarter
panel which give the Camaro an aggressive look.
Inside is a well-executed balance of retro
and modern design. A pair of deeply recessed instrument
binnacles feature round gauges in square housings
outlined in chrome. Even more attention to detail is
evidenced in the available centre console gauge cluster,
which displays oil temperature, oil pressure,
state-of-battery and transmission fluid temperature. The
centre console is given a modern touch with LED
backlighting.
The
Camaro is available
in two trims in the Middle
East.
The LT has a standard 3.6L Direct V-6 engine that
pumps out 323hp (gross) and propels the car from
0-100km/h in 6.1 seconds. The SS model comes with two
equally impressive 6.2L V-8 engines. The manual
transmission packs 462hp (gross) punch while the
automatic transmission puts out 441hp (gross). Both
launch from 0-100km/h in a thrilling 4.7 seconds, with a
torque of 408 lb/ft.
