he new generation Lumina is available in four trim levels:LS, S,LTZ and SS and is fitted with a 6.0 litre Generation IV V8 engine which delivers standard peak power of 360hp (net) at 5700 rpm and peak torque of 520Nm as measured under the international ECE standard. The 3.6 litre Alloytec V6 engine delivers standard peak power of 240hp (net) at 6000rpm and peak torque of 335 Nm.The new Lumina is available in four trim levels: LS, S, LTZ and SS.
The 2007 Lumina embraces the very latest in advanced computer technology to deliver safer driving and an improved ownership experience.A new intuitive, simple-to-use driver information centre (DIC) comes as one of the outstanding features of the new Lumina generation and comes as standard across the LS, LTZ, S and SS models.
The primary interface for this is on a new steering wheel, which incorporates a redesigned set of controls and comprehensive data in the instrument cluster. The DIC can be pre-set to remember 16 personalised functions as well as decrease lighting to minimal cluster function and reduce driver distraction at night.Advanced technology helps present the information in a comprehensible format directly in front of the driver while the relevant peripheral information appears on a secondary cluster located on centre console.
The great benefit of this system is that the driver only needs to take a cursory glance at his instruments to acquire details about speed, fuel consumption and other necessary information.This ensures that the driver remains focussed on the road, reducing the risk of accidents and improving safety.
The latest Bluetooth wireless cellular phone technology provides a seamless interface between enabled mobile phones and Lumina’s integrated infotainment system.Standard on the SS, this hands-free system makes answering and ending calls a simple and safe procedure. The system even automatically mutes the radio or CD player whilst using the Lumina’s quality speaker system for the incoming call audio.
An optional roof-mounted, fully integrated DVD system with remote control and wireless headphones is available on the S, SS and LTZ. The LS and S feature Blaupunkt AM/FM 80W stereo with a single CD player, while the SS and LTZ come with an Blaupunkt AM/FM 80W stereo and in-dash six-disc CD changer. Six speakers are installed as standard on the LS and S and eight on the SS and LTZ, providing occupants with crystal clear, digital quality music and radio reception. All systems offer fully integrated MP3 connectivity.
The body structure has also been designed to accommodate a range of advanced safety technologies as well as offer improved crash performance. The Lumina SS comes with the acclaimed crash avoidance technology Electronic Stability Program (ESP) fitted as standard.It also features the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA) and Traction Control System (TCS). The S, LS and LTZ enjoy the proven benefits of standard ABS to improve stopping distances in panic situations.
A new, quieter and altogether more refined manual and dual climate control system has been added to the 2007 Lumina range to significantly improve levels of comfort and air quality for occupants. Specifically designed to meet the demanding and harsh conditions of driving in the region, the new air conditioning system offers significant improvements over previous ones, notably a more powerful air flow and 20 separate fan speeds. This system has been made available in the LTZ model.
