LG mobiles to provide fully functional YouTube service

Global and regional digital leader LG Electronics and YouTube, the leading online video community that allows people to discover, watch and share originally created videos, have announced an agreement to provide YouTube services on LG mobile handsets. This latest service allows users to view videos and upload them directly to YouTube.com. For upcoming YouTube-enabled handsets, LG will apply a new user interface for easily accessing and uploading video content. LG's YouTube-enabled handsets will be available worldwide by the end of this year.

'This new service will connect people like never before. For the first time, LG customers will be able to film, upload and view videos on YouTube using their mobile phone just as they would from their home computer,' said Mr. K.W. Kim, President, LG Electronics Middle East and Africa. 'With this agreement, LG is continuing to drive forward wireless internet services as well as consolidate its technology leadership in the mobile industry.

' 'People want to be able to capture interesting moments with their cell phones wherever they are and whenever they want," said Steve Chen, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer for YouTube. 'We're excited to be partnering with LG to give people the opportunity to enjoy YouTube for watching and sharing those moments.'

LG first announced its agreement to pre-install Google's services on its handsets in March 2007. As a first step in this partnership, LG recently launched the LG-KS10, which features Google™ search, Gmail™ for mobile, and Google Maps™ for mobile.

LG in the Sultanate of Oman is represented by Oman Trading Establishment LLC (OTE).
