The Chevrolet Epica has a deserved reputation for strong power
delivery, smoothness and lack of noise. Thanks to the in-line six-cylinder- 2.0
DOHC engine, the Epica provides a vibration-free environment with outstanding

To achieve its sound-proof luxury, the inner panels of the wheel

The Epica is a genuine family saloon, which comfortably seats

front passenger and 12V jack in the centre console further enhance the appeal of
the Epica, which can be used to power a laptop or DVD player.
As one would expect from a premium family car, Chevrolet has
taken Epica’s safety offering extremely seriously. Driver and front-seat
passenger airbags, three-point seat belts throughout and belt pretensioners on
the front seats mean that the Epica’s safety levels go right to the top of
class.
Another outstanding safety feature is the inclusion of a special
lightweight rigid cell, which forms the basis of passenger protection. In the
event of a collision, the energy from the impact is diverted into precisely
defined deformation zones and is broken down and as a result, passengers are
contained within a predetermined survival space.
In the case of a frontal impact, force is distributed over four
load paths in different directions, which considerably reduce the impact on the
driver and front-seat passenger. A transverse beam of high-strength steel
provides even more protection by preventing any part of the engine penetrating
the passenger cell. Reinforcements in the doors and at the rear have been
specifically designed and structured to withstand collision, providing
additional protection to occupants in the event of a side or rear impact.
Along with these passive safety features, the Epica boasts of a
number of active safety measures. Controlled braking at speed is of paramount
importance in any car, and the Epica ensures smooth, progressive stopping thanks
to its efficient unit with four disc brakes - ventilated at the front,
four-channel ABS and electronic brake-force distribution. The latter system
monitors the condition of the road, the weight of the car and the number of
passengers, and then regulates the amount of brake force needed for each of the
four wheels. This set-up ensures effective braking with short stopping
distances.
Rear Parking Assist, an available feature, provides a
sensor-guided parking aid that emits a warning signal when it recognizes
obstacles within 1.20 meters of the rear of the car.
