Muscat,
Oman - The
Chevrolet Caprice is stronger and better equipped than ever
before. The Caprice, equipped with the very latest in advanced
computer technology, delivers a safer driving experience. A
new intuitive, simple-to-use Driver Information Centre (DIC)
comes as one of the outstanding features of the new generation
Caprice. Chevrolet Caprice is available in
LS, LTZ, SS and Royale models.
The primary interface
for DIC is on the steering wheel, which incorporates a
redesigned set of controls and comprehensive data in the
instrument cluster. The DIC can be pre-set to remember 16
personalised functions as well as decrease lighting to the
cluster function, helping reduce driver distraction at
night. Advanced
technology helps present the information in a comprehensible
format directly in front of the driver while the appropriate
secondary information appears on a secondary cluster located
on the centre console.
The great benefit of this system is
that the driver only needs to take a cursory glance at his
instruments, which are directly in line of vision, to acquire
details about speed, fuel consumption and other necessary
information. This reduces the risk of accidents while
obviously improving safety as the driver remains focussed on
the road ahead.
The
infotainment system is truly intense. An optional
roof-mounted, fully integrated DVD system with remote control
and wireless headphones is available on the LS, LTZ and SS
models. An integrated twin-screen DVD rear seat entertainment
system with wireless headphones is standard on the Caprice
Royale. The LS features a Blaupunkt AM/FM 80W stereo with a
single CD player, while the LTZ and SS come with an
integrated
Blaupunkt AM/FM 150W stereo
with in-dash six-disc CD changer. The Royale is equipped with a premium,
high-output Bose AM/FM 220W stereo with in-dash six-disc CD
changer, Bose amplifier and speaker system.
The Caprice lets
occupants keep their cool in even the most exacting
temperatures the
Middle East region is known for. The LTZ
and SS models refined dual-zone electronic climate control
system is now much quieter and more refined than ever before.
A tri-zone electronic climate control remains standard on the
Caprice Royale.
The chassis has been designed to
accommodate a range of advanced safety technologies as well as
offer improved crash performance.
The
Caprice employs Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) as
standard on the LTZ, SS and Royale, while being optional on
the LS. It also
features Electronic Brake Assist (EBA) and Traction Control
System (TCS). All four models enjoy the
proven benefits of standard ABS to improve stopping distances
in panic situations.
