Chevrolet’s designers have got the all-new
Captiva’s styling spot on with its expressive, sleek design,
striking features and an attractive interior.
At the front of the vehicle, there's a
boldly contoured engine hood with dynamic crease lines
running from the radiator grille obliquely back to the
A-pillars, with Chevrolet’s bow-tie emblem prominently
placed on the cross bar of the grille.Large jewelled headlamps
with clear glass covers give the vehicle a bold, contemporary
look while generously sized outside mirrors with large
bases and optional integrated turn signal lamps offer the
driver clear rear view visibility.
The front fascia is also augmented with
honeycomb style inlets and air intake ports in the front
fenders and integrated round fog lamps integrated into
the bumper.
The profile is encapsulated by several
striking stylistic elements. A pronounced crease line rises
to the rear complementing the dramatic bold wheel arches
and protective exterior mouldings. High-grade details like
a chrome strip at the bottom edge of the windows, a turn
signal lamp integrated into the outside mirrors (optional
in LS) in addition to front and side air intakes that add
to the Captiva’s over-all modern design and dynamism.
The coupe-like shape of the rear window,
concave design above the rear wheel arches and large wheels
give the Captiva a sleek modern look with an adventurous
edge.
At the rear, the Captiva is characterised
by a large split tailgate with a tailgate glass that opens
separately in addition to large vertical tail lamps, indicators
and reversing lamps, all of which are designed as a central
circular element.Adding to the impression of versatility,
the Captiva comes with SUV-style exterior tailgate hinges,
two exhaust tailpipes (right and left), silver coloured
skid plate and stylish reflectors in the bumper.
The interplay of “rugged/sporty” with
“stylish/elegant” continues in the all-new Captiva's interior
which features high quality fabrics and materials.
The friendly décor displays a modern ambience,
good ergonomic characteristics and a variety of comfort
features.
The overall dimensions (length/width/height:
4,639/1,849/1,726 mm) guarantee that the occupants of the
Captiva, an their luggage, have plenty of room be it in
day-to-day use or on long journeys. The shoulder room in
the first and second row of seats is a generous 1,455 mm
- placing this exciting newcomer firmly at the top of the
compact SUV class. The Captiva also provides passengers
with spacious legroom, with 1,035 mm at the front and 940
mm at the rear.
It is one of very few SUV models to also
be available as a seven-seater, providing two additional
seats in the third row and luggage capacity of 85
litres. If the sixth and seventh seats are not needed,
they can be folded virtually flat, accommodating 465 litres
of luggage. The seats in the second row can also be easily
folded down, assuming van-like dimensions with a luggage
capacity of 930 litres. Furthermore, if the passenger seat
is folded forward, objects up to 2.70 metres in length
can be transported and 1,565 litres of luggage can be stowed.
