The
2007 Lumina embraces the very latest in advanced
computer technology to deliver safer driving
and an improved ownership experience.More than
US$750 million has been invested in creating
the All-New 2007 Lumina – one of the biggest
and most ambitious new car programmes of
its type ever undertaken by GM Holden, where
the car is built. A 'clean sheet' approach
to the design, engineering and development
has seen a significant change to virtually
all systems in the vehicle.
The 2007 model range has
been designed and created at GM Holden's US$4.5 million
state-of-the-art design studio in Port Melbourne, Australia.
The facility is part of a global centre for rear wheel
drive vehicle excellence and has earned its reputation
and position through delivering internationally successful
production cars as well as breathtaking concept cars
over the past few years.
Safety first was an
important consideration on the new 2007 Lumina. The
Lumina SS comes with the acclaimed crash avoidance
technology Electronic Stability Programme (ESP)
fitted as standard, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS),
Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Electronic
Brake Assist (EBA) and Traction Control System
(TCS). The S, LS and LTZ enjoy the proven benefits
of standard ABS to improve stopping distances in
panic situations.
The body structure has also
been designed to accommodate a range of active and
passive safety technologies as well as offer improved
crash performance. This has been achieved through
the use of super-strength and high-strength steel
to stiffen the upper body structures and new dual-stage
front, side thorax airbag systems offer improved
protection in the event of a collision. The 2007
Lumina has a micro processing capability that is
more than double its predecessor, allowing for the
provision of new levels of safety.
The multi-link rear suspension
system technology provides outstanding handling without
sacrificing ride comfort for occupants. A new range
of fresh and sophisticated colours have been added
to an already eye-catching range to offer customers
even more choice
